Ode to Spring

Here in eastern Pennsylvania, spring announces itself with a little more warmth in the afternoons, a shift in the light, and the first brilliant blooms of forsythia. I start searching early, scanning for those tiny buds of intense yellow against the muted tones of winter’s last days—the tan grass, the dusky blue sky. And then, almost overnight, the branches erupt in golden brightness, as if nature itself has flipped a switch.

“Forsythia!” we call out to each other in the car, a tradition with the kids since they were quite young, marking the true arrival of spring.

To celebrate this joyful burst of color, I’ve recolored a few of my spring-themed designs, drawing from the vivid yellows, fresh greens, and warm browns of the forsythia in bloom. The group includes florals, a baby animal print, and a coordinating plaid, all infused with the essence of early spring.
